Our Opportunity

As we continue to grow, our company is accepting Assistant Surveyor applications for future consideration on upcoming projects in various sectors such as Pipeline, Municipal, Heavy Industrial, Power Distribution, etc. This work would be for possible projects including but not limited to Coastal Gas Link, Transmountain Pipeline, and Keystone Pipeline. Most work will be based in British Columbia and Alberta but may also be for projects throughout Canada.

Assisting the Senior Surveyor, you will conduct a broad range of field surveys, including pipeline, construction, topographic, volumetric, preliminary planning, design, control and quality assurance. Your responsibilities include providing assistance to the Senior Surveyor to accurately record measurements and other data, actively participating in all aspects of the survey. Your duties will include but are not limited to hammering wooden stakes, digging out pins, carrying and setting up survey equipment, walking through snow, drilling holes with ice augers, and working in tight quarters. Mentored by the Senior Surveyor, your team will be working in proximity to heavy equipment, other trades and contractors, noise, welding, and other general construction activities. This role is designated as a safety sensitive position.

Our Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 12 education plus completion of specialized related survey courses plus a minimum of one year of directly related experience.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for mathematics, surveying and drawing.
  • Familiar with basic survey methodologies and principles.
  • Familiar with the use of personal computers and experience with common office software.
  • Physical fitness and ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, willingness to work in remote sites in adverse weather conditions.
  • Technical competence and attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic, conscientiousness and dependability.
  • Ability to take direction as well as work collaboratively in a team environment to effectively meet project goals and deadlines
  • Valid driver's license and availability to travel to the job as required.
